Safety
Community guidelines
Twayn works because people show up as themselves and treat each other well. These guidelines apply to profiles, hellos, messages and meetups.
Be real
- Use your real first name and recent photos of yourself, with your face visible in your first photo.
- Add the trips you’re actually taking. Don’t create plans to collect attention.
- One account per person. You must be 18 or over.
Be kind, and take no for an answer
- Say hi with a real message, then respect the reply, or no reply. Don’t send hello after hello.
- No harassment, threats, hate, or pressure of any kind.
- No unsolicited sexual messages or images. Twayn isn’t for hookups or “hosted” trips in exchange for company.
People, not businesses
Don’t sell tours, rooms, rides, visas or anything else. Splitting real costs with someone you’re traveling with is fine; making a profit isn’t.
Respect privacy
Don’t share someone’s photos, messages or contact details outside Twayn without their permission, and don’t try to find where someone is staying.
Meeting safely
- Chat in Twayn first. Look at their profile, the dates you share and what they’re looking for.
- Meet somewhere public and busy for the first time: a café, a station, a viewpoint.
- Tell a friend who you’re meeting, where and when. Share your live location with them if you like.
- Keep your own transport, money and documents. Never send money to someone you met on Twayn.
- Trust your gut. It’s always fine to leave, stop replying or block.
- In danger? Call local emergency services first, then report the person in the app.
Reporting and what happens next
Block or report anyone from the bottom of their profile, or from your conversation (⋯ → Block or Report). Reports are confidential and always free. We review them within 24 hours and remove content and accounts that break these guidelines or our terms. Serious cases are reported to the authorities.
